We represented the makers of the web series "College Romance" in the Supreme Court in a criminal case of obscenity against the makers, successfully arguing that (a) every language wouldn't be termed as obscene under section 67 of the IT Act unless it depraves and corrupt the minds of people; and (b) profanity and vulgarity need not be equated with obscenity.
We represented the 'Kerala Story' producers in the Supreme Court. The Court stayed the ban imposed by the State of West Bengal on the film's screening. Additionally, while recording a statement from the Tamil Nadu Government that there is no direct or indirect ban on the film in the State, the Court directed the Tamil Nadu Government to ensure the security of theatres and moviegoers in the State.
The Delhi High Court granted a stay on the appellant's conviction and our Client Dilip Ray, a former Union Minister implicated in a coal scam, to allow his participation in the upcoming legislative assembly elections in Odisha. The Court's ruling referenced the precedent in "Afjal Ansari v. State of Uttar Pradesh (2024) 2 SCC 187".
